Assistant Corporate Controller

As a result of their strategic positioning in the markets they serve they continue to see growth throughout their business. To facilitate this ongoing growth they are currently looking for an Assistant Corporate Controller. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the finance organization responsible for the overall financial reporting system integrity including computer and manual processes, accounting policies/procedures, and management of the finance personnel supporting these activities. The successful candidate also has direct responsibility for managing and mentoring all employees within the Assistant Controller’s department and indirect responsibility for assisting Finance activities worldwide. The position reports directly to the VP Worldwide Controller. Responsibilities: • Preparation of financial statements on a timely and accurate basis to meet all public reporting, FASB, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements. • Oversight and preparation of all management reporting. • Conduct monthly reviews of selected accounts and quarterly account reviews with other members of the Finance team in corporate, the region, the plants, and other subsidiaries. • Work closely with the head of Internal Audit to ensure continuing compliance with SOX. • Coordinate monthly consolidated closing process of the company including the establishment of appropriate timelines to ensure efficient and accurate monthly reporting. • Revise accounting policies and procedures to reflect changes in GAAP including appropriate adjustments to convert Foreign Country GAAP statements to a U.S. basis and adoption of other guidelines that may change relative to FASB, SEC and other regulatory requirements. • Responsible for integrating financial results on acquisitions, start up businesses or divestitures. • Preparation and coordination of the quarterly update and annual audit, preparation and issuance with the Company’s outside auditors Preferred Education, Skills and Work Experience: • Will have significant experience as an Assistant Controller for a public company, ideally from a comparable global manufacturing organization. • Bachelor's degree ideally in Accounting, Finance, Tax or Business Administration or equivalent. • CPA, Masters/MBA are desired. • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, FASB, SEC and other regulatory requirements. • Significant experience gained from a multi-national operation is a must, cost based manufacturing experience is a plus. • Experience gained both from within a public company and a manufacturing company are strongly desired. • Experience in managing outside vendors with a track record of accomplishments in corporate setting for a public company. • Exceptional management skills coupled with a high level of integrity with a team oriented disposition. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with team members at all levels of the organization.
